A Little Introduction…

Thank you for joining me in my writing adventures for children. 

I am the author of children’s stories, middle-grade fictions, and short stories. I have had a passion for writing since I was a young girl. My passion for writing stemmed mostly from my reading of The Nancy Drew Mysteries from which I developed a desire to share my stories with other children. As a 10-year old, I would often pen short stories while curled up in the old gold lounge chair in the coolness of the basement in my home in Littleton, Colorado. 

I am a three-time graduate of the Institute of Children’s Literature, a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, and the Pikes Peak Writers Group in Colorado. 

I won Honorable Mention from the Writers’ Journal in 2010, for my Romance genre short story, ‘Love on the Wild Frontier’. I also was honored to win second place in a Sportsman’s News contest in the January 2015 edition for my story, ‘A Hunter’s Dream’. ‘A Hunter’s Dream’ shares with readers the story about my son’s elk hunting adventure which got him an elk worthy of the Boone and Crockett record book. 

I love to write about family related events, especially turning adventures I have shared with my children and grandchildren into delightful children’s stories. I also love to write romance stories and westerns and hope to publish these genres sometime in my writing career. I am currently working on a new early reader series The Adventures of Darby. The first in the series, Darby and the Dollberry Dare, is planned to be released in October 2021. The second and third in the series are in the publication process and planned for release in 2022. Shadows on the Gulch, the sequel to The Ghost of Morgan Gulch, her recently published middle grade novel (2018), is still in work.

I enjoy music, both playing and writing, photography, jewelry making, and most of all spending time with my family. While I am enjoying another favorite hobby, traveling, I am always on the lookout for new ideas for my next story. I grew up in Littleton, Colorado, which I live with my husband. I have two children and four grandchildren.
