Thank you for joining me in my writing adventures for children.
I am an award-winning author and full-time proposal manager, residing in Littleton, Colorado, with my husband and two cats. I am living my lifelong dream of being a published author of children’s books. She is the author of “The Ghost of Morgan Gulch,” a middle-grade novel set in the Rocky Mountains, a story based on a true-life family property, my two eldest grandchildren, and a family ghost. I have also penned a delightful children’s bilingual series, “The Adventures of Darby,” published both in English and Spanish.
I am a two-time award winner and three-time Finalist in the Hindi’s Libraries’ Females of Fiction Literacy contest. In 2022, “The Ghost of Morgan Gulch” was chosen as a Finalist in the Top 3 Chapter Book category. In 2024, “The Ghost of Morgan Gulch” was deemed the winner for Best Interior Illustrations and Best Overall Chapter book for Middle Grade Books, and Finalist in the Top 2 Chapter/Middle Grade Book Covers. “The Adventures of Darby – Darby’s Polka Dots and Pretties” won a Finalist spot in the Top 3 Interior Illustrations for Picture Books category.
I received the 2023 “Editor’s Choice – Award of Excellence” by London’s Reader’s House Magazine for my January 2024 interview and was featured on the cover in their April 2024 issue. I received an Honorable Mention for my short story “Love on the Wild Frontier,” and won second place in a Sportman’s News contest for my short story “A Hunter’s Dream.” “A Hunter’s Dream” shares with readers the story about my son’s elk hunting adventure, which got him an elk worthy of the Boone and Crockett record book.
I am a three-time graduate of the Institute of Children’s Literature, a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, and the Pikes Peak Writers Group in Colorado.
I love to write about family-related events, especially turning adventures I have shared with my children and grandchildren into delightful children’s stories. I also love to write romance stories and westerns, and hope to publish these genres sometime in my writing career. I am currently working on the fourth installment for “The Adventures of Darby,” with a target release time period of March 2026.
I enjoy music, both playing and writing, photography, jewelry making, and most of all spending time with my family. While I am enjoying another favorite hobby, traveling, I am always on the lookout for new ideas for my next story.
